+ POORLY AMENDED
EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH BILL to be debated on Senate floor on
Tuesday, March 7. SB144-which would provide $25 million per year for embryonic
stem cell research ahs been amended and now it is even less acceptable because
it allows human cloning by permitting “products” or “material” not used prior to
be used for other research. This would include cloning, though denied by the
sponsors. You can listen to the debate by logging on to mlis.state.md.us (no

then click on Current Proceedings. You may even hear
your Senator voice their feelings on this bill.
Depending on the debate the
filibuster on this bill may start then, or at some time in the near future.

anytime.

+ House Judiciary first tortures, then kills Marriage Amendement In a very strange maneuver the House
Judiciary Committee stopped the passage of HB48 with an unfavorable vote. What is
strange about this vote is that after amending the bill to make it less acceptable to the majority of
Marylanders and even more anti-traditional marriage, the Judiciary
Committee then defeated their amended bill!!? Go

was in the House Chamber this morning when the most surprising and disturbing
event took place. The session opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Opening
Prayer, the recognition of the State Teacher of the Year and the County Teachers of the Year. Another recognition
was supposed to take place of school students who had been awarded recognition
for reading a large number of books. Before they were even in the gallery to be
applauded the Speaker of the House, Michael Busch called on the Majority Leader,
who immediately called for adjournment until Friday...more

II- 08/08/05
On
August 14th, Tony Perkins will be at Two Rivers Baptist Churchin Nashville, Tennessee for "Justice Sunday II - God Save
the United States and this Honorable Court!" He will be joined on stage by Dr.
James Dobson (by video), Chuck Colson, Phyllis Schlafly, Bill Donohue, Ted
Haggard, Bishop Harry Jackson, Cathy Cleaver Ruse, House Majority Leader Tom
DeLay (R-TX), and Senator Zell Miller (D-GA). Activist judges have been
redefining our culture - legislating from the bench armed with a social agenda
while ignoring the Constitution. And it was the Supreme Court and activist
judges that made a decision to condemn millions of unborn children to death and
now threaten the very definition of marriage. Justice Sunday II will be hosted
